How The Auction Works

The auction is a simple timed auction. (It is not a live auction with an auctioneer.) The auction begins at 10am (BST) on Friday 21st February and starts to finish at 2pm (BST) on Monday 3rd March. As the auction ends there will be a 30 second gap between each lot. Hence lot 1 ends at 2pm, lot 2 ends 30 seconds after 2pm and so on.
Each lot has the possibility of a 60 second extension. So if, for example, someone else makes a bid in the final minute, (i.e at 13:59 in the example of lot 1 above) the auction will then extend for an additional 60 seconds. If no one else makes a bid within this 1 minute period, the highest bidder will have successfully won the lot.
None of our lots have a hidden reserve price. Each lot will have a starting price which if met would secure the item provided there are no additional bids. The reserve is the lowest of the estimate prices. Therefore, in the case of a lot where the estimate is £400 to £600, the reserve is £400 and a bid of £400 would secure this item provided there are no more bids. If you have any questions regarding the bidding process or any aspect of this auction please contact us and we will answer your query.

Buyer's Premium

Purchases are subject to an additional buyer’s premium of 24% (VAT will be added to this figure for buyers in the UK). For example, if your winning bid was £100 you would pay £124. Bidders in the UK would also pay VAT of 20% on the commission of £24 making a total of £128.80, in this instance.
