John Lennon 1968 Typed Letter & John Lennon Autograph In Cynthia’s Hand Lizzie Bravo Collection (UK)

A typed letter from John Lennon and John’s autograph in the hand of Cynthia Lennon that were sent to the Brazilian Beatles fan Lizzie Bravo during her during her stay in London in the sixties. Lizzie arrived in London in February 1967 with a burning desire to meet The Beatles. She met and photographed John, Paul, George and Ringo on numerous occasions over the period 1967 – 1969 and built up a friendly relationship with the group and with John in particular. Lizzie, along with her friend Gayleen, was asked by Paul McCartney to sing backing vocals on The Beatles track ‘Across The Universe’. Comprises the items listed below.

A piece of wooden parchment paper on the John Lennon has typed a note to Lizzie Bravo that reads ‘Dear Liz, Many thanks and best wishes, John Lennon’. John has also typed part of his home address Weybridge, Surrey and the date Oct,20th in the top right corner of the letter.

A 1968 Beatles Fan Club promotional card with facsimile signatures on the front. Cynthia Lennon has signed John Lennon’s autograph on the reverse.

The items are contained in the original mailing envelope that is postmarked KINGSTON UPON THAMES 20th October 1968 and addressed to Liz Bravo, 58 Compayne Gdns., Flat 2, London, N.W.6’.
In her book ‘‘From Rio To Abbey Road’ Lizzie recounted ‘Saturday, 10/21/67. I received an envelope that Cynthia sent pretending to be John. A typed note and a photo of the Beatles of those that the fan club distributes, with stamped autographs, signed on the back with John's name, but I recognised her letter. It was super cool of her. I think it was because of that golden plastic trumpet I left as a gift to Julian’.

The typed letter measures 19cm x 7.75cm (7.5 inches x 3 inches). The condition is excellent. The fan club card measures 15cm 10.2cm (6 inches x 4 inches). The condition is very good plus. The envelope measures 17.2cm x 11.5cm (7 inches x 4.5 inches). Stamp removed. The condition is very good minus.

Provenance: from the estate of Lizzie Bravo, backing singer on ‘Across The Universe’, author of From Rio To Abbey Road. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Lizzie’s daughter Marya Bravo. Also comes with a Tracks Ltd. certificate of authenticity.
