A chequered winter hat that was owned and worn by Kurt Cobain at Seattle Tacoma International Airport on the 11th December 1993. Kurt was returning to the Seattle from the group’s show at Roy Wilkins Auditorium, Minnesota on 10^th December. Two days later on 13^th December, Nirvana performed their now legendary concert at Pier 48 in Seattle. It was broadcast by MTV in abridged form and later released as ‘Live And Loud’ on DVD and audio CD.

Provenance: from the collection of a close associate of Kurt Cobain. The hat is accompanied by a letter of provenance from her along with a collection of snapshot photographs of Kurt wearing the hat.
