Mick Jagger 1985 Signed & Handwritten Note (UK)

A piece of pink notepad paper on which Mick Jagger has signed his name and handwritten a note. It reads: ‘to Ingrid Your mate says you could put me at my ease see you down at the pier lets do the Southend freeze Mick Jagger’.

The paper measures 9.5cm x 17cm (3.75 inches x 6.7 inches). There are slight creases in places. The condition is very good.

Provenance: accompanied by a letter from the original recipient that reads:

‘I obtained this autograph by Mick Jagger when it was passed on to me by my friend Kirsty McColl in 1985 after he had seen me on Top of the Pops singing Southern Freeez in 1981. At the time she was married to producer, Steve Lillywhite who had just been hired to produce their upcoming album Dirty Work which was released in 1986. I later met Mick & Keith during the recording of the album in 1985 where I had the opportunity to teach Keith Richards the words to a track they had been hoping to record for the album although he could only remember the first two lines. I overheard him sing the first two lines and spontaneously I sang the rest. During that brief one-off meeting I was able to supply him with details he had previously pursuing about the name of the artist and the track which then enabled them to include it on the Dirty Work album. The Track is called Winsome’.
