A pair of LA Special 7A hickory drumsticks which were previously owned by Mitch Mitchell.
Mitch Mitchell became a musician through working at Jim Marshall’s drum shop while still at school. Early in his career he gained important experience working with the Pretty Things when he temporarily replaced Viv Prince and as a session drummer for The Who while they were searching for a replacement of Doug Sandom. On the 6th October 1966, Mitch auditioned for the Jimi Hendrix Experience and remained with the group until Noel Redding left the group in June 1969.
The drumsticks measure 39cm (15.5 inches) in length. There are signs of wear. The condition is very good.
Provenance: from the estate of Mitch Mitchell and sold as lot 41 in the Burstow and Hewett 20th Century Design sale held on the 28th March 2024.
