Two colour snapshot photographs, one signed, of John Lennon arriving at Paul McCartney’s Cavendish Avenue, London home which were taken by the Brazilian Beatles fan Lizzie Bravo on 21st June 1967. Lizzie arrived in London in February 1967 with a burning desire to meet The Beatles. She met and photographed John, Paul, George and Ringo on numerous occasions over the period 1967 – 1969 and built up a friendly relationship with the group and with John in particular. Lizzie, along with her friend Gayleen, was asked by Paul McCartney to sing backing vocals on The Beatles track ‘Across The Universe’.

The first photograph is unsigned, it has been hand annotated by Lizzie on the top border in black pen ‘CAV 21st June 1967’.

The second photograph has been signed on the reverse by John Lennon in black ballpoint pen. John has written ‘To Liz thanks for a great year love John Lennon x’. The autograph was obtained on 14th February 1968 by Lizzie’s friends Carole and Lynda in 1968. It was then given to Lizzie.

In her book From Rio To Abbey Road Lizzie recounted ‘I took this picture of John arriving at Paul’s house in 1967. I made a copy for my friend Carole. In 1968, she and Lynda asked John to write something for me, because I was going back to Brazil’. The photograph is also pictured on page 107 of the book The John Lennon Letters by The Beatles official biographer Hunter Davies.
Each photograph measures 9cm x 9cm (3.5 inches x 3.5 inches). The condition is very good plus.

Provenance: from the estate of Lizzie Bravo, backing singer on ‘Across The Universe’, author of From Rio To Abbey Road. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Lizzie’s daughter Marya Bravo. Also comes with a Tracks Ltd. certificate of authenticity.
