An original programme for the AC/DC 1979 European tour that has been autographed on the front cover by Bon Scott and Angus Young in blue ballpoint pen. Bon has added the group name under his signature. The autographs were obtained outside the Apollo Theatre, Manchester on the 29th October 1979.
Provenance: accompanied by a letter from the original recipient that reads:
‘My childhood friend Simon Robinson and I set off from our then hometown of Grimsby on his faithful Honda 250cc Super Dream Motorbike on the 29th Oct 1979 . Keen and eager to see our heroes AC/DC at Manchester Apollo Theatre. It was cold as we went across England’s highest motorway M62. The support band unbelievably was Def Leppard who were superb, AC/DC with Bon and Angus blew everyone’s mind and literally blew the roof off the place. After several deserved encores Simon and I found ourselves outside in the rain, sleet and snow programs and T Shirts clutched in our hands. I persuaded Simon to wait by the tour bus and see the band coming out, when they did there was only half a dozen of us hardcore fans left and the band asked us on the bus where it was a lot warmer. We chatted and secured Bon and Angus autographs and stored them under our bike leathers by our chests all the way back to Grimsby (Did I say it was cold), little did we know that barely 2 months later our then hero Bon Scott would be dead, tragic.’
The programme measures 21cm x 29.75cm (8.2 inches x 11.7 inches). The condition is very good plus.
