Paul McCartney 1967 Autograph In Mailing Envelope Lizzie Bravo Collection (UK)

A piece of blue paper that has been signed by Paul McCartney in black ink. The autograph comes with the original mailing envelope which is post marked St. John’s Wood, 17 August 1967 addressed to Miss Liz Bravo, 58 Compayne Gdns., Flat 2, London, N.W.6’. The autograph was obtained by the Brazilian Beatles fan Lizzie Bravo during her stay in London in the sixties. Lizzie arrived in London in February 1967 with a burning desire to meet The Beatles. She met and photographed John, Paul, George and Ringo on numerous occasions over the period 1967 – 1969 and built up a friendly relationship with the group and with John in particular. Lizzie, along with her friend Gayleen, was asked by Paul McCartney to sing backing vocals on The Beatles track ‘Across The Universe’.

In her book From Rio To Abbey Road Lizzie recounted ‘Paul’s “letter” arrived. In fact, he autographed the photos and also the blue paper on which I wrapped them. Beautiful autograph, very neat – I think he signed it with a pen’.

The paper measures 12.2cm x 20.25cm (5 inches x 8 inches). The condition is very good. The envelope measures 14cm x 9.5cm (5 inches x 3.75 inches). The condition is very good minus.

Provenance: from the estate of Lizzie Bravo, backing singer on ‘Across The Universe’, author of From Rio To Abbey Road. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Lizzie’s daughter Marya Bravo. Also comes with a Tracks Ltd. certificate of authenticity.
