A rare secret Record Store Day release of the Paul McCartney single ‘Hope For The Future’. The record has ‘PM’ and ‘Sweet Thrash’ handwritten in black pen on the label. Limited to 100 worldwide, these records appeared in selected shops in the UK on 6-7th of April 2015. Also, selected shops in the US received a single copy for the Record Store Day on 18th April. Each record shop was instructed to not advertise it or include it with the rest of the Record Store Day releases, but to hide it under the Paul McCartney section. Each side of the record contains a different unreleased alternate mix of ‘Hope For The Future’. It comes in a generic white jacket and inner sleeve with a card insert with details of how to download a printable Paul McCartney figure.
Please note that on close scrutiny, and after liaising with Beatles autograph expert Frank Caiazzo, we now believe, that contrary to opinion held at the time of release, the initials 'PM' and the words 'Sweet Thrash' have not been written by Paul McCartney.
There is a very light surface mark on side 1. The condition is near mint.
Auction: The Beatles Memorabilia Auction, ending 6th Oct, 2024
