A handwritten letter sent from George Harrison’s mother, Louise Harrison to a 15 year old Beatles fan named Barbara. It is housed in the original mailing envelope postmarked 9 Dec 1965. Accompanied by a collection of black and white photographs and fan club photocards with handwritten notes on the back and another mailing envelope.
Provenance: accompanied by a letter on behalf of Barbara which reads:
‘These letters were sent to Barbara when she was about 15 years old in response to letters she sent to Mrs Harrison and Aunt Mimi. Mrs Harrison ‘took’ to Barbara to the point of signing her letters “Mum Harrison”. Louise Harrison, the daughter, came to Michigan to receive 80,000 signatures of fans from America, requesting The Beatles come to America for a concert. There are two pictures of this event.’
The letter measures 15.5cm x 23cm (6.1 inches x 9 inches). It is folded leaving a vertical and horizontal crease line and there is light wear around the edges. The condition is very good plus. The envelope measures 16.5cm x 9.5cm (6.4 inches x 3.7 inches). It has been opened across the top and is slightly creased. The condition is very good. The fan club card measures 14cm x 11cm (5.5 inches x 4.3 inches). It is folded across the bottom and there are creases around the corners. The condition is very good.
