A one page letter in the hand of George Harrison’s mother Louise Harrison that was sent to the Brazilian Beatles fan Lizzie Bravo prior to her one year trip to London to see The Beatles in the 1960s.
The letter reads ‘Dear Lizzie. Your letter was very good English. I think you are very clever. If you ever visit England, I moved from Liverpool to near Warrington’ Best Wishes Louise Harrison’. Louise has attached a sticker with her home address on the top right corner of the letter, she has written the word ‘(SECRET)’ under the address.
It is pictured on page 176 of Lizzie’s book ‘From Rio To Abbey Road’.
Provenance: from the estate of Lizzie Bravo, backing singer on ‘Across The Universe’, author of From Rio To Abbey Road. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Lizzie’s daughter Marya Bravo.
The letter measures 15cm x 20cm (5.9 inches x 7.8 inches). Folded and laid flat. Some mottling in places. The condition is very good minus.
