George Harrison’s Mother Louise Harrison 1967 Handwritten Letter Lizzie Bravo Collection (UK)

A one page letter in the hand of George Harrison’s mother Louise Harrison that was sent to the Brazilian Beatles fan Lizzie Bravo during her stay in London in the sixties. Lizzie arrived in London in February 1967 with a burning desire to meet The Beatles. She met and photographed John, Paul, George and Ringo on numerous occasions over the period 1967 – 1969 and built up a friendly relationship with the group and with John in particular. Lizzie, along with her friend Gayleen, was asked by Paul McCartney to sing backing vocals on The Beatles track ‘Across The Universe’.

The letter reads:

‘Dear Lizzie.

Thanks for your letter, and I would love some pictures, if its no trouble, did you speak to George?

Are you working in London? I was surprised you could stay a whole year on your own.

I don’t know of anyone who is going to Liverpool, but I’ll keep trying to find someone.

Love Louise Harrison’.

It comes with the original mailing envelope postmarked Warrington, Lancs 26th March 1967 addressed Lizzie Bravo, Warwick House, 6-8 Norfolk Square, London, W.2.

It is pictured on page 176 of Lizzie’s book From Rio To Abbey Road.

The letter measures 15.2cm x 23cm (6 inches x 9 inches). There are crease lines and some mottling in places. The condition is very good minus.

Provenance: from the estate of Lizzie Bravo, backing singer on ‘Across The Universe’, author of From Rio To Abbey Road. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Lizzie’s daughter Marya Bravo. Also comes with a Tracks Ltd. certificate of authenticity.
