An almost complete run of Mad magazines. The collection begins with the first issue in October 1959 and ends with the November 1993 issue, numbered 379. There is only one issue missing, that from April 1993, numbered 372.

Mad magazine was originally an American comic book but when USA comics were banned in the UK in the 1950s several small printers and importers became publishers and produced UK versions of the US magazines. The 32-page monthly UK editions differed slightly from the 48-page 8-times-a-year US editions with changes being made to correct US spellings and references. Mad magazine contained comic strips on various topics from politics to sport.

Mad magazine measures approximately 20.5cm x 27cm (8 inches x 10.6 inches). Several issues have the owner’s name or first line of their address written on the front cover. The condition is as follows: No. 1 has a tear to the spine measuring two thirds of its length, the condition is good, No. 12 is good, approximately 30 copies are very good, the remainder are at least very good plus.
